Having a deep appreciation for his homeland’s sophisticated culture and history, Venghour is empowered to embody a true, spirited artist. Dance, writing, and filmmaking are the unerring sources of power allowing him to express his identity and assert his urgency towards societal issues surrounding gender, environment, and war. In 2018, he worked as a writer and an actor in a film for Minor Act. From 2020 to 2024, he is a dance member of the first gay dance company in Cambodia, Prumsodun Ok & NATYARASA, whose intentions are introducing tradition to a new life from destruction and trauma and elevating the quality of life for the LGBTQIA+ population.

In Fall 2022, Venghour enrolled in La MaMa Residency, a collaboration with La MaMa Experimental Theater in New York City. He interned at New York Live Arts, founded by the American choreographer Bill T. Jones and performed at The New School’s Tishman Auditorium. In 2023,  he studied South African dance and political science at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Currently, he is a dancer and choreographer of Cambodia’s new queer dance troupe called “អមោឃបាស - The Next Generation” in Phnom Penh. He is also an undergraduate at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, studying dance & choreography, writing, and filmmaking.
